They say raising a child takes a village.
We’re that village.
We’re not a national agency. We’re your neighbors — a close-knit team of handpicked professionals who love this work. The kind of place where the director picks up the phone, the receptionist remembers your daughter hates wearing socks, and everyone is rooting for your child to go far.

Our Story
2008
Started as a family
A husband and wife noticed a gap. Philadelphia’s families needed better therapy options. She was a speech-language pathologist and he believed in her vision. They started small: just early intervention, just Philadelphia, just the two of them.
2012 — 2015
Word spread. So did we.
Families told other families. Kutest Kids grew, offering Speech, OT, PT and more. Spreading to Montgomery County, then Delaware, then Chester and Bucks — a response to families who needed support closer to home.
2016
A place for kids to just be kids
We opened Kids at Play, our indoor sensory playground in East Falls, creating a space for children to explore, play, and grow in an environment that both excites them and supports their development.
The family grew
185 therapists. Still a family.
In a field where burnout is common, we invest in our people — their training, growth, and wellbeing — and most of our therapists have been with us for years.
2023
Everything your child needs, under one roof
We moved Kids at Play to a larger home in Roxborough and expanded into Mental Health and ABA Therapy, so families could access every service their child might ever need, without managing multiple providers.
2026
A second home in Northeast Philadelphia
We opened our second clinic location, bringing the same warmth, expertise, and family-feel to even more families across the city.

Julia Bookbinder
MSS, LCSW | Clinical Director of Operations
“Helping families gather the tools they need to thrive is my passion.”
Julia has more than eighteen years’ experience in childhood development. She started as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, getting an inside view of what families are really navigating. She pairs that with a Certificate in Nonprofit Executive Leadership from Bryn Mawr. She joined Kutest Kids in 2014, starting with directing our early intervention program, and went on to build out services that support children and their whole family through every stage and challenge of development. She’s been through it herself, alongside her own child — and that’s what drives her. Using her clinical perspective and leadership strengths, Julia continues pioneering programs that meet the needs of the community. As she puts it: “Helping families gather the tools they need to thrive is my passion.”
Michele Levy
Office Manager
“Helping families get clarity on the support out there energizes me.”
Michele has been the steady hand at Kutest Kids since 2009, back when we were a small, brand-new agency. Few people know our families, or our story, better than she does. Drawn to the medical field and once set on becoming a speech therapist herself, she found a role that brings together everything she loves: working with children and making life easier for parents. She’s often the first voice a new or overwhelmed family hears, and having navigated Early Intervention with her own son, she knows exactly how much a clear, reassuring explanation means. As Michelle says, “Helping families get clarity on the support out there energizes me.’’
We celebrate every milestone —
the first word, the first hop, the first time a child walks into a room full of people and doesn’t fall apart. And nothing makes us prouder than the day a family graduates from our services, knowing their child has the skills and confidence to go out there and thrive.

Everything your child needs.
All in one place.
Your child’s therapist takes the time to understand not just their diagnosis, but their personality, quirks, what makes them light up — and who they can become, given the right support. We’re proud to be the only agency in Philadelphia with this breadth of services under one roof.
